Installing and Setting Language Preferences Using the Cloud Creative Desktop App But, let’s deal with language pack installation first. Of course, you can always purchase another copy of Photoshop officially, but that’s assuming that you’re filthy rich.įortunately, for our second scenario, there is a workaround here that will help you change the menus from a foreign language to English. However, if you bought the program from a source other than Adobe’s website, you won’t be able to switch language. You can change Photoshop language by installing different language packs available on the official Adobe website. For some reason, the language settings in Photoshop are much more complicated than you’d think. ![]() Unfortunately, this isn’t as straightforward as it may seem. On the flipside, someone may be an English speaker who bought a foreign version of Photoshop and want to switch to English.Īll in all, there are many reasons why a user would want to know how to change the language in Photoshop. For instance a native speaker is a lot more likely to pick Photoshop over a local editing tool if there’s a Photoshop language option for it, don’t you think? They want as many people to use their software as possible. You mostly deal in images and you are probably familiar with the English language to the extent of knowing the tool names, right? Not if you put yourself in the shoes of Adobe. Why Change the Language?Ĭhanging the language in a photo editing software tool seems fairly trivial. Working in Photoshop, especially if you are a beginner, requires English language proficiency. ![]() So much so that “to photoshop something” means any form of image editing. Remember there are 30 million people with Creative Cloud subscriptions, and I strongly suspect that pretty much all of them will have Photoshop, so it's the lack of posts on this forum that tells us that the vast majority of people don't have any problems.Adobe’s Photoshop has long been a standard in image editing. Those Flaming Pear plugins are so old I am surprised they still work (actually their UI are dreadful!) so there are bound to be issues. If this doesn't help, check out the plugin's website, because my experience above suggests it is their code that is failing, and there will other people in the same situation, so they'll hopefully have something on their Support or FAQ page. You can usually fix these things with a bit of detective work. Or use the Photoshop file location link to work out were things shoud be, and search to find where they actually are. Just an adition to the above, when you have this sort of issue, it nearly always helps to work out the file format - in this case. Thanks in advance to anyone who knows what's happening with this and can share how 3rd party plugins/filters porting to the latest Ps generation are being handled! Has that design been changed by Adobe? I don't want to lose any filters (especially "classic" ones doing manual copying processes that I was glad to stop doing in recent years past - plus they end up in multiple file hierarchies & add to memory consumption if we retain older Ps versions for various reasons. We used to have to ensure our 3rd party plugins/filters were in a Ps Common Programs folder (or some name like that) to ensure they'd carry forward without us manually having to copy all our filters/plugins to the comparable file hierarchy in each successive annual update. Is that a general bug/known issue for Windows (or, all) users? After seeing those posts, I'm holding off updating to Ps 2024 (commercial rel. I've seen posts by other Win users saying their 3rd party plugins (aka, Filters) didn't carry forward & install into the new Ps 2024 from prior annual Ps releases. ![]()
